The Big Easy have taken some of the greatest tunes by the giants of swing, and added their own arrangements, to bring you an afternoon of swing
Singer and pianist T.J Johnson is one of the country’s great jazz and blues performers. Joining T. J and his band this afternoon is trumpeter Jamie Brownfield, and together they will bring you a heady mix of jazz, blues, and swing.
Trombonist Dave Donohoe leads one of the finest New Orleans bands in the U.K. He has worked with many of the greats of New Orleans jazz, both here, and in the States, including trombonist Jim Robinson, who was one of Dave’s heroes.
Yet another of the U.K’s great New Orleans style bands. Firm favourites at Darlington, you are guaranteed an afternoon of good raw jazz.
The Club’s jazz season wouldn’t be complete without a session from Jeff and John, together with Keith Stephen and Bruce Rollo. Their Mr. Men line up guarantees an afternoon of the jazz that you love.
New to Darlington, Six in a Bar, is a classic 1920s/1930s jazz band, featuring some of the finest jazz musicians from the North West of England. Their programme includes music from such great as Armstrong, Morton, Waller and Henderson.
Hot Fingers capture that lazy Sunday afternoon feeling. Their programme is played beautifully, with wit and aplomb, held together by their unique style and astounding musicianship. Not to be missed, just ask anyone who heard them last year.
The Good Time Gang is rooted in the New Orleans style of jazz. Emily is joined by mum and dad, Liz and Paul Bacon, together with musicians inspired by the ‘Good Time Bands’ of the 40s, 50s, and 60s. Let the good times roll.
These seasoned musicians are sure to astound and delight as they play their hearts out on a selection of great tunes. After their last appearance here, our discerning audience gave them a standing ovation.

Emma Fisk is a very fine jazz violinist who has played alongside many inspiring musicians including Keith Nichols, Spats Langham, Enrico Tomasso, Guy Barker, Robert Fowler, Martin Litton, and in London with the Jazz Repertory Company.
‘For lovers of the classic Stephane Grappelli – Django Reinhardt approach this is right up there amongst the best in the U.K’ Paul Bream, Jazz Alert.
